Highlights of the National commission for the BICI report recommendations
 

The National Commission formed in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 1715 of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI), Royal Order No. 45 for 2011 and Royal Order No. 48 for 2011, is charged with the review of the BICI report recommendations and development relevant proposals, including recommendations to introduce necessary amendments to laws and processes, as well as to provide the method of implementation of the recommendations. The Commission shall complete its mandate before the end of February 2012 in an atmosphere of transparency. The Commission shall publish a list of its achievements over that period, and shall ensure that its output related to the implementation of recommendations is in compliance with international standards and practices. On facilities required for the Commission to perform its functions, the government shall provide all necessary resources to facilitate the activities and optimal functioning of the Commission.

The government shall also implement the BICI recommendations as required without delay, and without waiting for the Commission’s output. The Commission is free to comment on the government’s implementation of the BICI recommendations.

Whereas the Commission is required to operate in an atmosphere of transparency in accordance with the Royal directives as contained in the Royal Orders, the National Commission’s recommendations and the government’s responses in respect of the recommendations shall be published on the Commission’s official website.
