Government Response

The Cessation Court, in its hearing on 9 January 2012, overturned the two appealed sentences in the case of murder and running over of two police officers, in which the National Safety Courts had previously sentenced two of the accused to death, and others to life in prisons, and the case of kidnapping a police officer in which the accused were sentence to 15 years in prison by the National Safety Courts. The Cessation Court ordered the cases to be referred to the Civil Appeals Supreme Court for review and sentencing of all the accused in both cases.
