THE National Commission for implementation of Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) recommendation yesterday stressed a national reconciliation programme.
During a meeting, commission chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh said the plan must be prepared taking into consideration the political, social and economic aspects, human rights principles and the Constitution, with help from global experts.
It decided to ask the government for all the draft laws it would be implementing as part of BICI proposals.
With regard to a suggestion on amendments to the National Security Agency Law, including the appointment of an independent inspector-general with duties similar to a complaint office at the Interior Ministry, the government said in a reply that experts were studying the matter.
On a suggestion to ensure global standards in Bahrain's media, the government said it had appointed French experts.
In response to a suggestion on audio-visual recording of interviews of suspects, the government said the ministry had approved a plan to procure equipment from a German company. It said the Public Prosecution had already equipped its interrogation rooms with such facilities.
The meeting also followed up reinstatements of sacked employees, especially in the private sector.
