The government reiterated its firm commitment to implement the recommendation of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).

In a statement issued last night, it pledged full co-operation with the National Commission charged with implementation of the BICI recommendations. The government pointed out a tangible progress in the implementation of the recommendations and said measures had been taken regarding each recommendation, the Bahrain News Agency reported.

In a bid to ensure best international practices, the government has sought assistance from specialists from all over the world.

In this regard, key agreements have been signed with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation. More agreements will be sealed soon with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and other international organisations.

The government has also launched a bilingual website (http://www.govactions.bh) which features procedures in both Arabic and English for the public opinion to be updated and informed - in total transparency - on Bahrain's full commitment to implementing the recommendations. More languages will be available soon on the website. It has also vowed to keep the National Commission updated on steps taken via its official website.
