The National Commission following up the implementation of recommendations by the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) last night praised the government for its interaction and co-operation.

The commission held a meeting under the chairmanship of Ali Saleh Al Saleh and reviewed procedures undertaken by the government to implement the recommendations.

The purpose of the review was to ensure that the procedures were in compliance with the essence of the recommendations and its adherence to the highest standards and best international practices, as the commission is preparing its final report. The report would be presented to His Majesty King Hamad.

The commission praised co-operation and interaction of the government team charged with the implementation of the recommendations headed by Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and the speedy implementation of most of the recommendations.

Mr Al Saleh highlighted the positive comments by ambassadors of various countries on the seriousness of the government to implement all the recommendations made by the BICI.

The commission expressed its appreciation on the remarks made yesterday by the Cabinet on its efforts in which it hailed the tangible progress made, as a result of His Majesty's directives, lauding the constructive co-operation and co-ordination of the National Commission.

The commission also affirmed its adherence to work it had been assigned following the Royal Decree of its formation on November 26.
