The challenge ahead lies in the successful implementation of the remaining recommendations of the BICI, observed dignitaries at Al Sakhir Palace.

The National Commission’s report is a positive sign towards a brighter future for Bahrain, they said.

Reflecting on the next step, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa said, “We have put the truck on the road and now we will see to it moving.” Over a 100 people have already availed the services of the compensation fund and the office concerned with receiving grievances, he said.

The report reflects the keenness of HM the King towards implementing the BICI recommendations in the goodwill of the people said Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan.

The report explicitly proves that Bahrain is living its obligations, said Works Minister Essam Khalaf.

“This is a major step forward and I am optimistic that Bahrain through a consensus amongst its people will soon pass this phase to a better and stronger position,” he said.

Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa described the day as one of ‘pride’ for every Bahraini and said that the remaining implementations will soon be in place.

The move reflected the sincerety of HM the King who delivers what he promises, said Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussein Mirza.

“Most of the recommendations are in place along with future plans to complete the remaining,” he added.

The future is challenging, observed NUA Secretary General Abdulla Al Huwaihi.

“Success of the completion of the implementation will depend on how much the people will accept in general,” he said.

However, it is a good opportunity for Bahrain to start with a new step towards a political solution and reconciliation, he added.

Meanwhile, it is definitely not easy to accomplish everything overnight, but nothing is impossible, observed MP Khalid Abdullaal.

“Getting together the political and civil societies and the state to take up the responsibility seriously is a big challenge, said NC member Dr Abdulla Al Durazi.

Businessman Abdul Hameed Kooheji said the day marked a new era in Bahrain’s history. “Things will definitely proceed faster,” he said adding that unity can help things be put in place at a quicker pace. He urged all to forgive and forget and move forward.
