His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday pledged to press on with political reforms, stating that the “doors to dialogue were, and remain, open.”
The King was speaking after receiving the final report of the National Commission in charge of following up the implementation of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) recommendations, at a ceremony held at the Royal Hall, in the presence of Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The King explained Bahrain’s commitment to reform.
"The implementation of the recommendations reflects Bahrain’s commitment to reform in various fields. We reaffirm our resolve to travel this reform path, and preserve the strength and unity of our community without excluding anyone, or favouring the interest of one group over another. Our nation is for all. And the doors of dialogue have and continue to be open."
